Garden State

I wrestled with whether or not I should put this one in here, since I saw it on DVD last night and not in theatre release, but since I'm hoping that it will get at least a nod by the Academy for its writing and since I found it profoundly affecting, what the hell! Before even seeing it I guaranteed my friend E____ that by the end of it she would find Zach Braff attractive. I was not wrong. Great writing, great performances, great music and great visuals. Everyone has gone on and on about how wonderful Portman's performance is, and it is, but let's not forget Braff, shall we? He definitely made me feel like I was coming out of a coma from start to finish of the film. Lovely.
