Monster-In-Law

Listen, it's a romantic comedy. It's giggly in fits and bursts and a totally passable way to spend a few hours, but ultimately kind of forgettable. I mean, Jane Fonda is surprisingly funny - though not nearly as funny as Wanda Sykes (who up until this point I have always found only irritating, so that was kind of a nice surprise.) And Michael Vartan is soooooooo pretty. I mean, soooooooo pretty. So I'll forgive him that he plays a Mama's Boy like a wet blanket and doesn't develop a fraction of the chemistry on the big screen with Lopez as he does on the small screen with Jennifer Garner. (Because: pretty.)

It's weird that the two things that I will remember the most about this movie are how gorgeous I thought Lopez's engagement ring was (ooooh - yellow diamond), and how lovely she looked in her wedding dress. I think it ought to be mandatory that Lopez appear in a wedding dress every time she's on screen. The woman just looks so comfortable in them!
